Before the dawn of civilization, we know that natives of the lands used the spear as their primary hunting weapon. Recent time travel expeditions to the Jurassic period, however, revealed the use of spears dating back to Neanderthal man.

It was discovered that both rocks and spears were used by a Neanderthal class known as Grogs. Spears were used primarily for close combat, while rocks were used for range. The Grogs used the spear both for hunting and for protecting their clan from the Kabala.
